The International Vegetarian Union (IVU) does exist!
For those who know, I’m a vegetarian. Just want to clear up a few facts before I proceed on the IVU - just as we are all born vegetarians, I stuck to my culture and religious roots of Hinduism and stayed a vegetarian - never did I convert during my life. For the most common question people ask me: “You mean you’ve never had a juicy steak?”…Believe it or not, I’ve never had one nor am I tempted (probably because I’ve never had it to begin with to by tempted by anything). I only know that it smells like something burnt ;).
I was surfing the internet last week for some more recipes to try out. Low and behold, I found the perfect website at the International Vegetarian Union (IVU). I found a whole list of vegetarian recipes from all around the world! My favourites come from Mexico and the Caribbean, and of course India. Here are some links to my favourites:
Mexico and Caribbean
- Latin American / Caribbean (31)
- Chilis (49)
- TexMex - Snacks, Dips, Breads, Soups, Vegetables, Beans and Grains (52)
- Burritos, Tacos, Fajitas, Enchiladas, Salsa (63)
Indian (Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, plus ‘westernised’ curries)
