The objective of this project is to construct an apparatus that carves symmetric circular shapes, such as a simple chess piece. The carving will be done by a mechanical arm with a blade attached scraping away material, which is spun on a rotating disk. The user will have the option of controlling the arm manually using the keypad or have an object automatically carved from the material by sending the system a graphic file. This file will be converted into a set of data points at the PC that will correspond to the desired shape. This converted data set is then sent to the system only during the automated carving process. The act of carving will be accomplished with stepper motors and external peripheral devices controlled by a Motorola MCORE™ digital microprocessor.

PodBot

The Podbot is a robot that has onboard podcasting capabilities, hence Podbot. The robot handles similar to a Remote Controlled (RC) car as it can move forward and backwards, and rotate left to right. What makes it different from other RC cars is device you use to actually make it move, in addition to all the on-board podcasting capabilities. The Podbot was taken to Gnomedex 5.0 where it received its fame! The robot profiled by various press and media companies, which you can surf to in the related links section of this page. Most cool of all it even made it onto Robert Scoble’s red couch ;)

Avocado

Project Avocado is a portable UML display tool based on Visual Studio .NET that supports UML generation of C# source code files and Microsoft Visual C# .NET projects. This display tool produces a class diagram showing relationships such as inheritance, containment, reference, cardinality, and et cetera. Avocado is implemented using the IntelliParse and IntelliDraw technology. These technologies are customized technologies that are based on various libraries of the .NET Framework and are combined to provide effectiveness in UML generation.

PI Applications

The Plant Information (PI) system is an enterprise infrastructure, which follows a client-server model, that use widely used in the oil and gas industry to monitor large plants and their systems in real-time. The PI System turns real-time data into real-time intelligence for the oil and gas company.

dPOD

The goal of this research project is to design, prototype, and document a complete Background Debug Mode (BDM) module for interface to the Motorola HCS12 family of microcontrollers, and develop a PC application to make use of the BDM protocol.
